Yes spring is a time of the year dedicated to the birds and the bees, a time when Mother Earth breaths a sigh of relief that Old Man Winter has left the building and slammed the door behind him. For our Tide Rip Team, it’s also a time for reunion. There’s mounting excitement to discover who’s out and about and how the mothers and their kids managed hibernation. Each day thus far in the early season has proven to be just that. Lenore and her twin girls (seen above) faired well and they’re all seemingly healthy and happy. As well, big ole Kinky (please don’t tell her I said that!) also survived, as did all three of her cubs. Testimony to her prowess at motherhood. We did manage to spot Bella once briefly accompanied by the fruits of her hard labour from this time last spring. She’s now sporting two little precious cubs, but the question remains: to whom do they belong? In addition to our residents, Tide Rip has also been lucky enough to spot the odd brownie foraging in the intertidal zone during the commute in. Things appear to be shaping up for a great 2013 season!
